GAINESVILLE, Fla. – South Carolina could not find a way to stop the run and could never get anything going on offense as it fell 38-6 to Florida on Saturday in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Gamecocks (6-3, 3-4) recorded 237 total yards while the Gators tallied 515 total yards. The Gators had it going in the run game as they finished with 374 rushing yards.
South Carolina didn’t have the success this week that it had last week in getting explosive plays and head coach Shane Beamer said they lost some 1-on-1 battles and will work to continue to try and make people miss which will help them create those big plays.
“I wish I knew,” Beamer said. “They were better than us tonight without a doubt. Look at the video on the plane going home. One thing, I thought they did a really good job of tackling. We had some 1-on-1 opportunities on the perimeter with our running backs and receivers. We lost some 1-on-1 battles tonight with ball carries. We have won to many of those. We have to continue to do a great job of making people miss and winning those 1-on-1s also.”
