The 2022 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros resumed Tuesday night with Game 3 in Philadelphia after two days off. Bryce Harper did not wait long to give the Phillies the lead. In the bottom of the first inning, Harper took Astros starter Lance McCullers Jr. deep for a two-run home run in his first World Series at-bat at Citizens Bank Park. Alec Bohm and Brandon Marsh both homered in the second inning to make it 4-0. Here’s how you can watch Game 3, which was originally scheduled for Monday but got rained out.
The Astros and Phillies split Games 1 and 2 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, and the series has shifted to Philadelphia for Games 3-5. Tuesday night’s pitching matchup features Ranger Suárez (10-7, 3.65 ERA) for the Phillies and McCullers (4-2, 2.27 ERA) for the Astros. Noah Syndergaard was originally slated to get the nod for the Phillies in Game 3, but manager Rob Thomson adjusted his pitching plans after Monday’s postponement.
